Under construction ...

Ten Re-Inventions of Classic Notions.

* This list is inspired, as usual, by something I read. (Reading possibly keeps me from doing some of the rest of life, but it does give me a good scrabble vocabulary). Someone was talking about the Bluebird of Death. This is what this list is for—rethinking the staid, upping the metaphor, breathing life into the cannon. (Good luck with it!)

  1. Having spent 40 years pursing a career, I have now come to the conclusion I would have been better off spending 40 years reading.

  2. Basically, any pop artist who is emerging now for Generation Y is probably just the same as a Baby Boomer pop artist was, remade.

To me, Elvis became Michael Jackson, became Britney Spears became Justin Bieber.

Or... Richard Pryor became Eddie Murphy who became Chris Rock.

The other side is people who comment about how we are taking luxuries too far...

The dishwasher and air conditioner are luxuries for instance... well, 100 years ago a washing machine and electricity were luxuries... in fact, decent health and hygene were luxuries.

A real re-invention on a classical idea... wait for it....

Will be when "renaissance" or "rinasciamento" becomes a fashionable word to use again.
